All weight loss, whether normal paced weight loss, slow weight loss or even quick weight loss is a combination of proper nutrition and exercise. I must admit that it is completely possible to lose weight without exercise. Sounds crazy? How about this: it is also possible to lose weight without proper nutrition. It may not be healthy or desirable, nonetheless it is doable. You won’t see that on TV or hear it from any trainers. The latter is less likely to happen because without proper nutrition and nutrition tracking you are more likely to exceed your daily intake needs, and very unlikely to burn off the excess calories. Nutrition
Proper nutrition is one of the single most important quick weight loss tips I can give you for losing weight. Why is it more important than exercise? Because your nutrition is the easiest place to create the calorie deficit. Yes, you can create that calorie deficit strictly through exercising, but, if you eat 2000 calories over your BMR (Base Metabolic Rate – the calories you need to just live life) it’s going to be VERY difficult to burn that with exercise. Is it possible? Yes, but to burn those 2000 calories a 120lb woman would have to run for 2 hours and 6 minutes at a 6 minute mile. Most would agree, that’s a tall order to fill. Keep in mind, that pace is 10 mph so you would pretty much be at a sprint for just over two hours. Also remember, that just gets you to the break-even point. You still haven’t created that calorie deficit yet. Do you see what I mean now? This is precisely why nutrition is key!
I learned this first hand through experience as I worked out for well almost a year and got little to no results. It was because I didn’t know the first thing about nutrition. I was just like most, looking for a quick weight loss diet to get me where I wanted to be. Once I found out that I needed to change my eating habits the weight melted off fast, very fast. Here is one of my diets for quick weight loss that I currently use when I need to get ready for a wedding or other special event. It might be exactly what you’re looking for in a short term solution and the best part is, it’s really simple. I eat only (well, almost only) vegetables and fruits until I get to my desired weight. Think about it when was the last time you saw a fat vegetarian? Well, there are some, but they’re few and far between. The ones who don’t eat vegetarian junk food (corn chips and cheese pizza) are thin and that’s my point.
Exercise
With everything I said above, I don’t want you to underestimate the importance of exercise; fact is, when quick weight loss is your concern you absolutely NEED it. Not to mention its health benefits. Exercise will help you get deeper into that calorie deficit that is vital for weight loss. Without going to deep into exercise I have many articles on this site pertaining to fat loss. You want to make sure you mix weight lifting and cardio at least four days per week.
