You’ve seen the tag lines “Lose 9 lbs in 11 Days” right? Considering everything that I have been through and learned about weight loss and fitness, this claim seems ridiculous. So I wanted to see for myself if their claims are legit. After all, it is a lot of weight to lose. Nine pounds in eleven days is 0.8 pounds per day. One pound of fat equals 3500 calories and at 0.8 per day you will need to burn 2800 calories per day.
Is it impossible? Well, honestly when you do the math it is possible. Of course, even though it is possible, for most people it is very unlikely. That is only because people want to cheat. There is something inside us that says “you can’t tell me what to do” and we fight authority. That’s why we tend to stray from our diet.
My Idiot Proof Diet Review
In case you don’t know what the diet consists of, I will give you the basics of the Idiot Proof Diet free of charge. The diet is online based and has 10 rules to keep you losing weight. There are no caloric restrictions with this diet, and that is a very good thing. Caloric restrictions keep you thinking negative about how much you are eating throughout the day. That is just one reason why diets don’t work.
The 10 rules of the Idiot Proof Diet are:
- Drink Water – This gives a full feeling so you don’t over eat as well as keeping you from getting too hungry.
- Walk More – Walking at a fast pace will get you burning fat.
- No Sweets – You really shouldn’t need to be told that sweets are not good.
- Beverages – Drink whatever you want as long as it is 10 calories per serving.
- Condiments – Keep your foods as simple as possible, avoiding empty calories from sauces, toppings and gravies.
- Alternate Calorie Sources – High protein foods one day and carbs the next.
- Home Preparation – Preparing your food at home, you know everything that’s in it and if its Idiot Proof Diet approved.
- 4 Meals Per Day – Eat every 2 – 2.5 hours per day. This is the only rule I see being an issue for those that are awake for 16 hours per day.
- Calorie Shifting – This is kind of difficult and complex to describe. It’s best done in the book.
- Avoid a Feast – Basically don’t over eat, eating slow will allow you to get satisfied quicker.
This diet, when partnered with proper workout routine will absolutely work. Provided that you stick to the plan, just like many other diets, they work if you do. As for their claims to being idiot proof, well, that’s not hard to qualify. Afterall, if you don’t stay on the diet and you want to get into shape, you’d have to be an idot.
