There seems to be a lot of hype surrounding the whole idea of green tea weight loss.  In fact, there’s so much swirling around, it tends to make most of us quite skeptical of its validity, but it’s actually true.  Now, before you go out and buy the latest green tea weight loss pills, there are a few things you need to know to make sure your expectations aren’t too high.  There currently does not exist any sort of magic pill which will help you lose weight without putting forth any effort.  Even the best green tea for weight loss isn’t a miracle drug.  You’re still going to need to burn more calories than you’re eating.  This will simply add a small boost to help you reach your goal.

Some people are even touting a green tea weight loss diet which revolves around the whole idea of drinking lots of green tea.  The funny thing is, the diet would work just as well without the green tea. It’s basically a calorie restrictive diet which keeps you consuming less than you’re burning.  Without or without green tea, this will always cause you to lose weight.  The green tea does have some weight loss assistance but there’s no reason you need to have it the way these diet makers want you to think.

Some people are talking about Lipton green tea weight loss, again as though the magic ingredient in the program is the green tea.  Yes, it doesn’t hurt if you drink green tea, in fact it can help and yes, Lipton does make a healthy green tea you can enjoy without worry.  But, you won’t be able to continue with your current lifestyle, eating the same foods and lose weight because you’ve added in green tea.  That’s just not going to happen.

So, let’s look at what makes green tea such a good fat burner.  First of all, you need to understand how fat is created in your body.  When you consume any type of food, your body converts some of it into something called triglycerides.  You may have seen that word on your recent blood work.  Too many triglycerides in your blood can be a sign of impending obesity and heart disease.  But, under normal conditions, these are simply transported around your body providing your cells the energy they need.  For most of us, we’re getting far too many triglycerides and our body needs to store them.  If it doesn’t use them, it stores them for later.  Green tea has something in it called polyphenols which helps your body convert those triglycerides into energy.  By assisting in this process, green tea actually does help your body burn fat and energy more efficiently.
