There has been an appalling trend spreading like a virus through popular culture in the past couple decades, that I for one would like to see disappear. The fashion industry and Hollywood, without actually saying so, tell us we need to look like models or actresses or we’re fat. I should rephrase that, the fashion industry isn’t afraid to call you obese if you are a size zero or bigger. How are they doing it? You can clearly see the supermodels are beyond thin and I’m sure you’ve seen or heard airbrushing of celebrities photos has been in question lately. They also try to make us believe we should do like they do and wear the clothes they wear.
On the flip side, I am a big fan of The Biggest Loser because they are helping people through extreme weight loss fast, with a combination of healthy diet and working out more than any person can workout without being on the ranch. I say more than any person can workout, because when on the ranch the contestants can fully devote themselves to working out. They definitely aren’t using any of the fad extreme weight loss diet trends, and if they were most of the contestants would gain the weight back. The reason they would gain the weight back is because most of the people whom are looking for quick results don’t learn many of the important factors to weight loss.
I believe that extreme weight loss can be safe under the direct supervision of a doctor. I would strongly suggest you find one of the 6% of doctors who have actually spent time to study nutrition at a deeper level than provided at medical school..
One of the best extreme weight loss tips I can give concerns diet. The safest extreme weight loss diet I can or ever will recommend is the diet of a vegetarian. The only thing I feel this diet is lacking is protein, but that is highly debated among dietitians and nutritionists. Personally I don’t believe we need massive amounts of protein unless you are trying to build a lot of muscle. If you look at the gorilla for instance with a muscle density 900 times a humans, they are strictly herbivores. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with one or two of your meals in the day where you either eat some high protein meat or drink a protein supplements.
I think that the evidence is overwhelming that most crash diets for extreme weight loss are unhealthy, however when done right under supervision it can be highly effective
