Finding Diet Plans That Work
With so many fad diets available, it’s no wonder so many people experience weight loss problems. What was the last diet you tried? Did it work? Chances are, yes, you were able to take off the weight, but gained it back again as soon as you started eating normal. If your intention is to lose weight as fast as you can, then you’re probably setting yourself up for a big disappointment. While there are some quick weight loss tips that can offer you healthy benefits, you must follow them very carefully, since many of the diets that work require the use of pills, extremely low portions, or combining certain food groups.
Low carb diets that work
According to some studies, a low carb diet with unrestricted calories resulted in greater weight loss, when compared to most low fat diets. By restricting your intake of carbohydrates, you will find that your body goes into a different metabolic state known as Ketosis. In this state, instead of your body burning carbohydrates as fuel, it will be forced to use your stored fat as it’s main energy source. When your body is in the state of Ketosis, you will also find that you feel less hungry in between meals.
Low Carb Diets are not without health risks
Even though you can lose alot of weight on a low carb/ high protein diet, it does come with some risk, just as any diet does. Studies say that when your body goes into Ketosis, your body forms Ketones, which can cause your organs to shut down, resulting in gout, kidney failure or kidney stones. Ketones can also have an effect on ones desire to eat, making nausea and bad breath a problem. If you want to succeed at this diet, without all the bad effects, then you want to prevent Ketosis by eating at least one hundred grams of carbs a day.
Crash Dieting
Finding crash diets that work can be a hard task, but If you have a big event coming up soon and you need to fit into a dress that may be a little revealing; then a crash diet may be what you are looking for. Since there are many diets that claim to give you quick results, you may want to take some time and read up on a few that may work for you. Most crash diets are not considered nutritionally sound and may even be considered unsafe if you stay on them for too long at one time. If you find a diet that you think might work for you, the best thing you can do is to plan on staying on the diet for a few weeks, take a break for a week or two , then continue the diet once again.
The Cabbage Soup Diet
Being around for nearly 30 yrs, this diet has been studied for a long time. It’s a diet based on the idea that your body will burn more calories digesting the soup than it consumes. The foods you are allowed to eat are cabbage and other high fiber, low calorie foods. Even though the main ingredient to the cabbage soup diet is Cabbage, there are many other foods you will be allowed to eat within the 7 day period. This is defiantly a diet to check out if you need a quick fix, but it probably won’t keep you going for more than a week or two.
I can give you all sorts of tips and diet plans, but if you’re not engaging in some sort of weight training along with a good cardio workout, you’re cutting yourself short. If nothing else, invest in one of the many good home gym machines. Try to stay away from the ones you see on late night TV with one exception being the Total Gym.
